What we really need is an open source blockchain based voting system, with voter ID, which reveals the total number of votes for each candidate in each state the second the voting is done, and makes it final. No seeing how the count is going, no media getting to call the election. People vote and the media finds out what happens when everyone else does.
Yes, a total media blackout [the day of the election] until after the last poll has closed. Make it illegal for anyone in the media to speculate on and/or to call the vote. They can only report after the call is made from each authorized state official.

This is an idea who's time has come. We need to push for this legislation in every state
I think we just need to enforce paper ballots and absentee ballots, voter IDs. And ban unsolicited mail in ballots.
And ban counting the early vote. I don’t know what to think about the vote counting machines and software.
