There should be an audit trail in the machine saying that if ballot 25 was unacceptable, something else was scanned in its place and show the difference from the original, incorrect ballot#25
I'm kind of confused about what she is explaining here. Was she explaining the way an erroneous ballot should be handled or the way it was handled? Would the normal process be to only withdraw the erroneous ballot and leave the rest of the stack in the machine but instead they rescanned them all? She said something about discarding the stack so I didn't know what she was referring to there.
I think she meant that they weren’t canceling out all the ballots before #25. So they could easily put 24 Biden ballots in front of a faulty ballot and then say “oh shoot one messed up guess we need to run it again.” The key is they never discarded those 24 ballots in the batch.
I'll ask a dumb question - are the ballots numbered? Just like each dollar bill has a unique serial number? If not, they could be numbered and it would make it easier to audit. Paper ballots would have a certain series, and electronic ones would have a different series,.
