Geography played a big part - were an island nation at the corner of the world - access is via Australia usually so we had a big “wall” so to speak. We have only two main international airports so there’s that. Our GDP is 200 billion a year and we just borrowed 50 billion in a couple of months to pay for the lockdown - our grandchildren will be forfeiting their pensions to pay it back...
We should of adopted the Taiwanese model which used science and isolated lockdowns not national lockdowns - we could of spent only a few billion just targeting TWO AIRPORTS - instead we are now in a fucking recession !!!
