Nope. Totally illegal for anyone besides medical patients....who are legally limited still in quantity of plants and dry useable matter. And even though there was a higher density of dispensaries than starbucks in the puget sound....there were little to no doctors who would go through the pipeline to actually get someone a medical card anymore. Closest I saw when I was looking up for a patient was an hour and a half drive away. They also abitrarily limited the dosages for edibles to 10mg a package....and everything legally needed to be single packaged(same people who bitched about waste/recycling voted for this).. So you ended up in situations where a med patient who could legally buy a 1000mg brownie and eat a tiny portion as a dose in the med days.....would now need to eat 10+ individually child-safe packaged portions just to get the same dose. Never mind how difficult the packages were for arthritic patients....who were USING THE PRODUCTS FOR ARTHRITIS.
This also led to madsive amounts of plastic waste from the homeless/ghetto population who would crack a non-biodegradable/recyclable doobtube and throw it just anywhere on the ground.....
None of this even touches the LCB corruption, bullshit laws and hoops you needed to jump through to maintain a license for the dispensary. or the 47 PERCENT TAX on top of arbitrary quantity limits for purchases.
I could go on and on and on about how FUCKING DISGUSTED i was after working in the industry. Makes me fucking sick and all I got were smoothbrained fucking degenerates bitching at me for trying to "ruin a good thing" when I complained about the state of things.
Like a perfect example was: I wanted to set up a glass/plastic recycling box similar to donation boxes for used jars/tubes/bags. After jumping the pre-requisite hoops to even CONTACT an LCB agent I was immediately interrupted and told that it would violate an open container on premises law. So I found a neighboring business that was okay with it on their property as long as we were accountable....that broke the law because it wasn't on camera.....if we installed a camera we would need to resubmit our entire facility to an inspection because we "changed our camera systems"....all things that would void our license. So we just had someone sweep the lot for empty wrappers and broken glass daily......only to be dinged because our security guy was the one sweeping and happened to be out of the door when an LCB agent came to audit.
