The only texts in Islam are the Quran and Hadith. Nothing else matters. All of the wishy washy peaceful phrases in both come from the Mecca period when Muhammad was not in power. The moment he was granted power in Medina did all of the peace go out the window to be replaced by submission to him and his vile god.
Both religions have objectively shitty behaviour from their gods and believers.
Both also have a history of wise scholars and philosophers who shared insights in both canon and apocryphal texts.
