I had a birthday party for my kid two weeks ago. Bouncy houses, cake, candy, the whole thing. At one point, I had 30 people in my living room. No masks in sight, and nobody is sick. Not one parent mentioned anything. It's almost like everyone around here knows it's overblown.

My wives 1,000 member church still does communion with a couple shared glasses.

This means 40 people should have died based on the propaganda numbers pushed on us.

But nobody has died and there's no "spike".

And 99% of these people wouldn't get tested yet King County is spiking dangerously!!! Bs

I get your point, but that's just nasty.

It's communion. We've been doing it forever.

As Christians, we are not supposed to be afraid of a measly virus or government mandates.

Amen! God is in control. Not government.

Oh I hear ya pede. Sharing spit with a few hundred people at any time still gives me pause though.

I cannot imagine doing communion with shared dishes, even pre-COVID.

I understand, but we believe that being the body of Christ, we should be united, having no fear of one another or a virus with a flatlined mortality rate.

I'd argue a large majority probably don't care, but unfortunately so many are good honest people, it takes a lot of courage, and change of behavior to just flatly disregard some "rules". That's why I think people break all the rules in the privacy of their home/friends, like in your example, but will still wear a mask out in public.

But I think more people would stop wearing masks in public if they saw more people also not wearing them, and realized the consequences for not doing so are non-existent. with some exceptions of course, haven't been to NYC during covid yet, but I hear they actually enforce it there, and call the cops and shit.
