I remember seeing him get second in the Iowa straw poll and thinking he really had a chance. Definitely had momentum and was popular on college campuses. Then I saw the absolute media blackout, literally skipping over the second place spot to talk about their shitty preferred candidate. I guess at the time it was Mittens.
I was at the California straw poll back in 2008. Sat through a bunch of BS promoting Fred Thompson. After that, the vote was opened and a bunch of Ron Paul supporters came in. When it was obvious Paul was going to win the strawpoll in a landslide, the vote was simply cancelled.
Last time I gave a dime to the Republican Party. I did donate the federal maximum to Ron Paul though anyhow. That's when I realized it didn't matter who you voted for and the fix was always in.
