In the event the election is so screwed up that the SCOTUS sends the election to the House and Senate, who breaks the tie if the Senate is 50/50?
President Trump easily wins in the House, but the VP in the Senate??
Senate picks the Vice President.
House picks the president, but votes by state, not individual representatives.

If this hypothetical scenario were to take place after Jan. 20th, then we would have some problems. If there is no victor after Jan. 20th, then the Speaker of the House would assume the duty of Acting President. Luckily, since the new Congress is sworn in before the President, and Pelosi no longer has the votes necessary to remain Speaker, it wouldn't be her, but it would still likely be a Democrat. Since the Senate confirms the VP, a 50/50 split in a situation without a Vice President would result in complete and utter deadlock. The Acting President could attempt to nominate an Acting Vice President to serve as the tie-breaking vote in the main election vote, but this would likely be met with the same 50/50 deadlock. This would likely place the Acting President, and then Trump, after being confirmed by the House, in the interesting situation of being without a Vice President. Although the Supreme Court could recommend some form of action, it is unlikely that they would do so.
If this scenario takes place before Jan. 20th, a 50/50 split would not result in a deadlock, but would most certainly cast a shadow over Pence, as he would serve as the tie-breaking vote in his own vote for VP, barring him recusing himself over the vote.
I'm trying to imagine 4 years of President Trump and VP Harris. If it wasn't so serious, it would be hilarious.

Each State gets one vote. Republicans control more States than Dems.

The House votes on the President. The Senate votes on the VP. Tbh, I just learned this myself recently.

Only decided by House. Each state only has a single vote. More states are republican than democrat. Trump wins second term.
In that scenario, I'm not worried about Trump. Pence has to be elected by the Senate though
the horrifying thing is that this hasn't really been "practiced" in awhile, and if there is no decision by Jan 20th, the WITCH (speaker of the house) would be president until there is an agreement.
