Joseph McCarthy was shredded by the deep state because he underestimated the extent of American communism. America is still a communist nation, and keeps going further left.

Meta-lessons from McCarthy:

  • The war is asymmetrical
  • Must make it extremely costly to try to spin, discredit or humiliate anti-communism or to initiate direct meddling with us
  • The war is asymmetrical
  • Elites, though increasingly dumb and dumber, are paranoid about family-supremacist right-wing conspiracies by gun-toting small-business owners, and are on the alert for them
  • The war is asymmetrical

Fun Fact: McCarthy's chief legal counsel Roy Cohn was Donald J. Trump's best friend and mentor.

He knew what was happening and was later demonized for it. So many commies, so little time to destroy them.

It was subtle. Hollywood was a big part of it, funded by Russia.

Most people in league with Communists aren't true believers, they merely take commie coin or want power.

That's the tricky part, it wasn't always pro-communism as such. Often the goal was to deconstruct societal norms and to destabilize society. Make us a softer target.

The best example is how they've portrayed the family unit over the years. It started out small with stuff like every dad being an idiot and every mother being knowledgeable and wise. Now literally all parents are stupid and evil on TV. That sort of thing.

The issue is that A. It's effective but not as effective as they think it is and B. They have to become more and more radical because yesterday's avant-garde is today's boring. They've reached the point where it's subversive to believe anything remotely traditional- they call CONSERVATIVES RADICALS. Basically they've reached their limit.

Here's a video on the topic by Razorfist.

I think the one thing they didn't count on was social media not just amplifying conservatives but their own insanity.

Never forget that it also makes it harder for them to surprise us.

My greatest fear is that we do not have the will to do what must be done, but I choose to have hope. These last four years they've lost ground and that has never happened.

Pat Buchanan always defended Joe McCarthy....before it was cool to do it.

Everything that has happened since Obama left office has made me realize how poorly my high school education treated this man.

I'm working on a master's degree. Imagine how much the commies at this level treat him. I detest my fellow historians so much. They are human scum.

People did believe in him. The powers that be just framed what he did in the history books that every 6th grader reads about this country that it was bad. Just like they framed the 1950s as such a horrible and repressive time that it should be avoided because housewives were bored at home sometimes.
