I was starting to see more people without a mask, but my Governor DeWine in Ohio recently put out more restrictions and will go after the retailer if people don’t wear masks in their establishment.
People I know are here saying "well if you are having to adjust your social plans due to a lockdown then you are probably part of the reason we need one."
Fucking shit, I haven't been able to go to a bar past 10 pm all summer and my friends and I have just resorted to house parties. God forbid I just want to keep my local night life alive by giving them my money.
Thats why I have been cutting my own hair for the past six months. Dont want to wear a mask yet dont want to get the hair salon in trouble with the government.
Oregon has a statewide mandate requiring you to wear it both inside and out and I lived there until October and was literally only asked 1 time. Not exaggerating, just the once. At Firestone surprisingly lol.
Since then I’ve only ever been asked twice the most recent time happening at a restaurant in Florida about a week ago.
The mandates don’t mean anything. 99.99% don’t say anything. They are probably more afraid to confront a non mask wearer than people are having someone confront them about not wearing a mask.
You are probably right about that. I tend not to pay much attention to people when I am out and about, as I am focused on my own shopping. I probably would not even notice. I can't believe Oregon had a mandate that you wear a mask outdoors? Was that anywhere you went outside-like walking your dog? Or just in busy public places?
I think it was any public outdoor space. So if it was your own yard you are okay, but at a park or public sidewalk or something you have to wear a mask. I don’t know the specifics on it because I didn’t follow the rules anyways lol.
Fortunately the mask outdoor rule many ignored (maybe 40-50% followed it) It it was still near 100% compliance for indoor use tho. If I recall I literally only saw 5 people not wear a mask from July when the mandates were issued to October.
My state and county don't have the stupid mask mandates. It's Walmart, Target and grocery stores doing it. You might have to wear a mask to get by the Mask Nazi at the door in some of them, but once you're in nobody seems to care. I've gone twice to Walmart now completely without one even at the door and nothing was said.
