Occupy, just like every other leftist movement, was planned and funded by a PAC or Moveon.org, where they fed, created signs, and constructed a lawless environment for a group of squatters. It was no different from CHOP or CHAZ, apart from what the signs they handed out read.
They were never actually against Wall Street.
In 2008/2009 it was used as a sham to make the public feel like "something is being done" to "punish" those responsible for the recession & bubble. It was a facade.
