He picked apples from his tree at the gov mansion in Olympia (Thurston county and part of the apple maggot quarantine zone) and brought them as a gift when he visited out there and started passing them around.
I get that most people don’t really think about these kinds of regulations... but wtf he’s the governor of our state. Was there not one knowledgeable person on his staff to say “hey, no, we can’t do this.”

Plus, who brings the people that have huge apple orchards and millions of apples... MORE apples?? Couldn’t he have brought them, idk, salmon or something from western Washington lol!
