If these officials are bitching about mUh cOvId and require all this distancing then this would've have been a perfect way to monitor the tallies. Of course this would've gotten them a free slot on candid camera so of course they didnt want that.
What I also find suprising is under what law did these officers enforce removing poll watchers. Sounds like multiple lawsuits can be filed here. IANAL. I'm sorry, but they sound more like hired thugs to me and I come from a family full of law enforcement.

They aren't worried about lawsuits, right now it's "get rid of Trump, at any cost" mode for them.
They don't want cameras. That makes cheating a lot more difficult.
