Open source software (in addition to machines being only used for counting, requiring all machines used be manufactured in the US, and not be connected to internet) was one of the measures put forward a few years ago in Gabbard's 'SAFE' election integrity legislation that no one in congress seemed to want to touch with a 10 ft pole (especially fellow Dems- for obvious reasons.)
