Not explicitly Don related, but certainly implicitly, after all, all together now-

GET WOKE, GO BROKE! ;D

EDIT: WHOA! Thanks for all the upvotes everyone! :D I'm so happy to see Disney hatred flowing through you all! It makes us powerful. :3

What titles are you watching? I'm always looking for new ones.

There's some anime out there which I feel looking back one day will be the new standards for popular storytelling much like Lord of the Rings and Star Wars did decades ago.

If you haven't seen it, I absolutely recommend Symphogear. It's one of those series that I don't know how I missed out on it until after the final season aired, and I regret not being able to participate in the discussions around it when the series was airing. It's not really a bastion of amazing storytelling, but its presentation is fantastic and the music is phenomenal. It's sort of comparable to Gurren Lagann or Kill La Kill, in that it's more about over-the-top spectacle and 'rule of cool' more than something more grounded.

As far as storytelling goes, the first half of Kado: The Right Answer was amazing, but it's a damn shame that it ended up trainwrecking as hard as it did. I still recommend it, partially to see how good a story of its kind can be and partially to see how a great idea can fail so hard thanks to corporate shenanigans.

I do honestly believe overall, Sympho has a meaningful beautiful come full circle story. So much so my wife is getting two symphogear tattoos in the near future, one of hibiki's golden silhouette and one saying metanoia.

ALSO TRUMP IS IN IT, AND IN THE LAST SEASON HE SAVES EVERYONE.

Unfortunately the American community is cucked. Reddit believes it's 100% LGBT Canon and says everyone in the show is gay. it's not even a romance, and if they think Hibiki/Miku are gay they don't get the metaphysical side of their story

I do think that some of the seasons have a couple writing issues, but overall there's nothing there that hampers my enjoyment of the story and characters and music. I definitely wouldn't say anyone in the cast is gay, but it's hard to deny that there's some yuri-bait here and there throughout the series. I think that's just how Japan be sometimes, though.

It's great to see more pedes who like Symphogear, though. Even though XV ended pretty conclusively, I do wish we'd get more of it someday, even if it's not necessarily more anime. Maybe a game somewhere down the line that's not another mobile gacha that gets its global release canned so early.
