They most likely have several reasons. The first is obvious, no work for "non-essential" jobs, which comprise 90% of leftist jobs. Lefties abhor working, they just want to sit at home for free all day. The second is stimulus/unemployment. They want to get "paid" for sitting around. They go along with it because they have spent their entire lives being brainwashed.
