That’s correct, but it’s also kind of a nothingburger. There are other attorneys/firms working on the case, and Porter only withdrew after the Trump campaign approved. Firms don’t just dump clients/cases in the middle of a lawsuit unless there’s a plan in place for someone else to take over.
In other words the lawyers left after a pressure campaign by the media and the trump team said we approved it to save face. Okay let’s make noise tomorrow so that better lawyers see the people are backing them
It's not uncommon to change horses at the start of litigation if things aren't working out. You want counsel that will vigorously pursue your case, not someone who's going to half-ass things (especially for something as important and time-sensitive as this).
