The difference is mostly the number of participants. If just a few thousand people show up, our enemies will be emboldened and feel justified, and our allies will lose hope. This is a show of force like in the good old cold war days. It is supposed to send a clear message, "don't fuck with us or suffer total annihilation at our hands". This has to be subtle in our peaceful days, and considering it's an internal enemy, one that can hide behind the law and declare any threat unlawful. Only between the lines, the meaning can be read - but not proven.
So, please, everybody living in the vicinity of a few hours' drive, please try to go there and participate. If this falls flat, there is not only no hope for meaningful support from people on the fence (or those who are already falling off), there will also be no hope for any "revolution" or "uprising" or whatever, as people who don't want to suffer a little inconvenience to attend a march surely won't suffer the very real life-threatening consequences of a civil war. This would only motivate our enemies to further walk all over us, as they would know they have no meaningful resistance to fear.

It's a problem with the right, that we usually wait for some kind of leader to follow, whereas the left channels their common interest through the masses first and the leaders second. Both has advantages and disadvantages; if there is a leader with some staff, they can indeed position themselves and then coordinate the efforts to maximum effect; the masses acting on their own will waste a ton of resources on pointless and ineffective endeavours. But capable leaders with the intention to act against all conventions are hard to come by.
And hope is a dangerous drug - how many people find comfort in thinking "it will all get sorted out in the end, latest in 2024 we will win again" or the like. Or even now, "the recounts and lawsuits will be successful, it will all end up well". There simply is no guarantee that it will be this way. We should hope for the best, but expect the worst. And we should prepare accordingly. Si vis pacem, para bellum.
