You'll absolutely be called a racist if you draw attention to the fact that the Chinese are brought up to find very little importance in the individual, and total importance in the collective. 95+% of China is Han Chinese. That would be like 95+% of America being not just ethnically European, but Italian-Americans.
I have spent a lot of time in china, both living there and traveling the country, and the Chinese people are the least empathetic people I've ever met. It has pros and cons to be honest, but some things are pretty jarring. They utterly abuse animals, will walk right past someone dying in the street, and will OK any abuse against an outside group so long as the Han Chinese people are benefited. Also, literally the most outright racist things I've ever heard or experienced were in China. The Chinese claim to not be racist, but only because they have such an ethnically homogeneous country they can't find anyone to be racist towards.
Judging a person or a culture by how they treat their animals is totally fair and honestly reflective of the person/culture's psyche.
The sooner everyone understands that Chinese people have been literally programmed to be void of all empathy, the better.
