Educate me on how this works...

And how they determine “who wins”

read the fine print. each market has documentation on how they determine outcomes. it should be very clear.

as for how the markets work, you can buy yes/no shares for the listed price. if trump wins, those shares increase in value to 100 cents each.

it works just like the stock market.

this particular market is closed to new traders, but you can wager on state outcomes, and electoral margin of victory etc. there are some EXTREMELY attractive odds right now.

I think that market (Trump vs. sleepy) specifically is closed but there are other markets still open to bet on Trump on the site

I'm maxed out on predictit for the presidential side bets.

I have $850 bet for TX, SC, MA Dem Primary Winner side bets.

How else can I bet on him?

you can open a new account and drop another 850. you can bet infinitely on predictit

That might be an excuse they could use to not pay you at all though. Hmm...

they get their cut no matter what. you're taking profits from other traders, not predictit. they're just like a broker.

edit: seems like their ToS says not to open multiple accounts so i cant begrudge your wariness. i dunno any other sites. make sure when you bet on Yes on projected winners, you're betting No on the projected losers as well. should be able to do 1700 per binary market

It's against their terms to have two accounts, and then they can shut down both of your accts and keep your money. Don't do this!

You can contribute to his legal fund.

If its closed, why are they publishing odds? And how are the odds determined?

Dont you need active betting for odds?

Sorry I should've clarified. They closed it to new traders but people who already own shares of "yes" or "no" can still actively trade until a result is given in the real world. Then it's shut down to all trading.

I almost feel bad taking their money

I was thinking about putting a bet, but I’m worried they are gonna weasel out of paying regardless what happens. Because when trump wins, everyone is gonna claim it was stolen.

Maybe I’ll do $20. Because if I lose it, eh, but if they pay out I’ll get close to $200. Nice little bonus.
