People who say "our Democracy" should be hung. These United States are a REPUBLIC. I cannot stress how important it is that conservatives use the right language and don't cede these terms to these stupid democrats who CONSTANTLY claim everything is a "threat to our democracy."

Not to detract from the point, but are we a republic or are we a federation of states?

Like, isn’t the reason for the electoral collage that the president doesn’t represent the people, he represents the states themselves? Or something?

We are by definition a Representative Republic and NOT a direct democracy. Both are forms of democracy but with HUGE differences. A Republic protects the rights of the minority and provides checks and balances. A direct democracy means that a majority can vote away minority rights. We elect representatives. We have two houses of congress that are weighted differently. They are just two different t concepts. The left likes the word "democracy" because to them, majority rules. This is why they love the popular vote concept. They would love to just be able to buy off enough voting blocks to vote away their political enemies forever. But we have a constitution which makes it hard for them to do so. But lord, they try.
