What kind of elections? Didn't they just elect Bolsonaro in January 2019?

RussianAgent13 14 points ago +14 / -0

Same thing they did here. Testing their techniques in 2018 then going all out in 2020.

LanaForge 13 points ago +13 / -0

It's municipal, Mayor and house of representatives, and Bolsonaro was 2018

sahMsNt38 5 points ago +5 / -0

house of representatives

City council.

5
LanaForge 5 points ago +5 / -0

Ah yeah, true, the house representative would be a deputado right? I never know how to properly translate these things

Phil_Selway 5 points ago +5 / -0

Municipal elections. Mayor and local representatives. Nothing state or national.

"Smart" is the last thing you want in a voting system.

It should be absolutely dumb and boring.

What are you guys going to do Brazil?.

8
LanaForge 8 points ago +8 / -0

Honestly..I have no idea, I have been completely zoned out of politics for a while, I kinda woke up this year because I realized what was going on in the US, and also that if the US fell the rest of the world would soon follow.

I took a look at the candidates and they're all garbage anyway, I'll still vote for the ones I find the least bad, but that's about all I can do

Brazil is of minor concern for now, as long as the USA stands whatever happens to us is of little consequence to the world.

servers

There are no 'servers' in Brazil's voting system.

ClarenceBeeks 4 points ago +4 / -0

We need loyal intelligence eyes on this election. If there is fuckery we can provide evidence to them while drawing parallels here.

Hope you nerds have math people ready to dive into the data to prove they rigged it because you know damn well that's what they're going to do. Hopefully when it's all said and done all the establishment fucks get thrown in jail when it comes to light.

Our system is not a Dominion/Smartmatic system. It's entirely developed and programmed by the election authority itself.

All of the problems with the electronic voting system pointed out in the US are not present here.

They even made the source code on the machines open source, the copyright is owned entirely by the elections authority. They also have a patent for the system.

Their main partner on development was the armed forces, which put up all of the military-grade specification for the device to ensure they would be secure.

The hardware itself, following the election authority/military specification, has been produced by three companies: Unisys, Diebold-Nixdorf-Procomp and (yet to deliver) Positivo.

I don't know where they got the the Brazilian Machines are Dominion/Smartmatic.

Got a source? Would love to do some research on it.

1
sahMsNt38 1 point ago +1 / -0

A source for what, exactly? You want the contracts for when the machines were made?

1
CaptJohnYossarian 1 point ago +1 / -0

Any info about them. People around here suggesting a similar thing for the US. Just want to know if you had any more info.

1
sahMsNt38 1 point ago +1 / -0

Not in English... Is information in Portuguese useful?

1
CaptJohnYossarian 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah sure.

1
sahMsNt38 1 point ago +1 / -0

I can give you manuals, security analysis, general information, legislation, what do you want?

Here is the general info on them, by the national elections authority: https://www.tse.jus.br/eleicoes/urna-eletronica/urna-eletronica

Brazilians have balls, I remember them storming the fake COVID hospitals that were registering cases with no one being in there. I would be afraid to cheat in Brazil, they won't hesitate to go after them.

It’s not technically the same company, but Dominion IS using the hardware/software that Smartmatic developed. All the major US voting providers (Hart InterCivic, Dominion, ES&S) are owned by private equity firms so who the hell knows what the shared interest are for ownership if you trace it up far enough. Funny story, the Federal Government has said in reports that it hasn’t been able to determine definitive ownership of these companies that facilitate 90% of the races in the US and many others around the world.

Smartmatic started in Venezuela and has facilitated MANY contested elections around the world. Philippines being the most obvious example.

Trumpnado_warning 1 point ago +1 / -0

Prayers and support for our wonderful Brazilian comrades. I hope now that the world is learning more about Dominion/Smartmatic, we will be more empowered to tear it down.

pray4peace4 1 point ago +1 / -0

Holy crap! The government needs to postpone the election until they can get a reliable election method.

given the scale of micro processor and hiding pea sized components in a complex board there is too much room for fuckery. i dont trust ANY computer system to count.

1
sameoldUSERNAME 1 point ago +1 / -0

Wait, I thought the machines and software were Brazilian IP. Idk about this tweet guys, I'm calling fake news

3
sahMsNt38 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yep. Fake News. The machines are completely Brazilian IP, under complete control of the elections authority, specified by the armed forces. Smartmatic hasn't even produced any machines for Brazil.

The free world needs to have ballots counted by hand, transparent oversight, have stringent voter ID laws, and secure absentee processes or there will not be a free world.

Bolsonaro is trying to get paper votes back for 2022 at least...
