That was his biggest mistake with that episode. You could tell Alex was pretty put off by the fact checking and even more so, the “no, I can’t allow that” constant interjection. The reason Joe can have Alex on and fact check him is because he’s not doing it out of fear or trying to discredit everything he says. Joe and Alex being friends makes a big difference in that he knows how to deal with him.
Dim Fool looked so uncomfortable for somebody hosting his own podcast, pathetic. You don’t bring Alex on to try and completely reign him in, you go full AJ or don’t bother. Had Michael Malice not been there I honestly think Tim would have cut it off himself about 10 minutes in.
Credit to joe that despite him trying to reign Jones in, that's all he was doing. Try to pace him out and explain himself before moving through 7 additional topics. Joe's mentioned this before when jones is on the podcast- he knows so much that it sounds nonsensical to blow through all of it so you have to slow him down.
Tim was so much worse at it. Instead of trying to curate and guide the conversation, get jones to slow down and explain what hes saying, Tim was doing his best to maintain control over the whole conversation and remind everyone that this is "tim pool presents tim pool irl podcast with tim pool".
Joe's spotify friendly approach was irritating but Tim's ego was just, well, insulting to his audience
...and his co hosts. I feel bad for Ian the punching bag
