Our opponents live in dense urban areas. They require a non-stop stream of food, fuel, medical supplies. If these deliveries are interrupted, the places they live will quickly dissolve into chaos. This will cause massive issues (infighting for resources) for any opposing forces.
In all cases these densely populated urban areas require electricity they do not make for themselves. There are maps online, right now that will show you all wires, substations, and electric infrastructure around an area. Severing these high-density lines in enough places, will cause damage to the entire system and take power away from our opponents and in some cases ourselves. (Get a generator)
Water is a bit harder to interrupt. But if you can cut water to large cities, the effect will be immediately recognized. Creating huge levels of stress on the opposing forces only to be exacerbated by item 1.
Most of these dense urban areas are contained by geography. There are 2 or 3 major areas used to leave these geographic restraints. If they are destroyed, leaving the area becomes far, far more difficult.
If someone comes to fix the damage that has been done, they will need to be eliminated. If they come with protection. This is where the real fighting will be done. Prepare accordingly. Starve the cities and the people who rule them, will be eaten by those who live in them.
I hope these things are unnecessary. But only time will tell. Don't fight only to defend yourself. Fight to end the war if it begins. The war ends when the opposition surrenders. Using the steps above, the surrender will come quickly.

Find ways to expand your knowledge of the local terrain and to share that info discretely with allies. If you can't escape you'll need allies eventually. And there might be more patriots in your town than you think.
Interesting, just read a fiction book that used this same tactic to win. They used the bypass interstates that circle big cities to stop all traffic in or out. If you work/live inside these perimeters , make a plan.
