we explicitly use - or try to use - approved software that is US or US-ally generated, and this is absolutely checked before implementation. You will have an AF-level approval list, or Command-level*, or at the lowest level, a local AO signing off on that software, BUT.. IA should perform their due diligence to ensure the software is something we should be using, and it gets regular updates and is supported.. this is mostly or mainly for IA-enabled software (software which performs logins/access).
You could have a piece of software like say.. a drawing program used by some people who draft whatever items. That may be reviewed quickly and approved if software like that doesnt already exist and is approved. However, say that drawing software requires a server, and isn't locally run.. and that server performs authentication and identification.. and that software is made in Nigeria.. ahh, that likely won't get approved.
What is your opinion on this story? All this stuff about vote editing and switching with logs saved on servers in Germany that were raided by us operatives sounds like a bunch of fiction to me but it's gaining traction it seems
Whoever signed off on letting Chinese hardware count our votes using Canadian software on servers in Germany should hang for treason.
DoD IA here:
