Interesting, homeless doesn't mean stupid, it can mean a lot of things, but not necessarily stupid

I agree. I lived and worked in Boston when they closed the mental hospitals, it was during the early 70s. Many migrated to a shopping area near a homeless shelter, the Pine Street Inn.

Many of them had been institutionalized for years, were now off their medications and sleeping in the streets. As you would expect they were terrified and many were armed with razors, knives.

I worked in the area and was attacked several times by people who were so overwhelmed that every face was a threat.

I used to give money to the women who were picking through the trash for something to eat, always asking them if I could approach and if they would be offended if I gave them money.

All in all it was a really depressing experience for all concerned.

Interesting perception on how the population in your area has changed.

In the downtown Boston area today, because the Pine Street Inn is a defacto mental facility and because of the nearby hospital methadone clinic, the population demographic here has remained pretty much the same as in the 70s.

I understand the idea of food vs cash, but as I was going to and from work at the time, and as the population was so potentially volatile I went with cash :)

Very true, and at the time my concerns were twofold, to help and to not get stabbed. What might have happened if they didn't like the sandwich I offered ?

For example, on one occasion I smiled at a woman as I passed her by, she went for me with a box cutter :)

Because that is what all of this really about.

Blind hatred of Rich People.

Rich People like fixing things. Why would we make them scared to visit our Neighborhoods. Trump gets it, and we love him for it. Just look at the comments on "Rising" all day today on this forum. Armed American Patriots ready to rise up and defend our "dually elected billionaire".
