Good point but hard to avoid. Until the western world says fuck you to china at least.

Not really hard to avoid. USA still has largest CPU manufacturers, digital displays made in Singapore, hard drives made in Asia, but not China. There’s no reason they couldn’t manufacture it without CCP components.

Taiwan also makes every computer component you can imagine.

China has most of the rare earth minerals needed to make chips. Just buying those materials means going through China. China also happens to manufacture components using those materials, so it's easier to go through China to get the whole thing than it is to go through them to get part of it and try to make the rest yourself.

You go to China for parts and components for 1 reason.... COST.

Our voting machines should be built with a money is no object budget.

And the whole story was swept under the rug...

For the tech-oriented (and not so much) pedes, here's another interesting tidbit on security: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=intel+cpu+meltdown+and+spectre

For many years, called everyone collaborating with China "collaborators".

Garbage politicians allowing garbage corporations to go to China, where they make 0.3% more profit due to using slaves instead of workers in the West, and everyone in the West borrowing money from China to fund the commies on the interest.

Some distant relative would announce, "We are going to China. We will get a lot of money. We are going to teach them engineering." Collaborator.

There should not be "voting machines". They can be a secondary counting option, but everything should be done by hand, and observed by many when counted by hand.

Of course, having a foreign company, Canada, that outsources work, Serbia, and gets components from enemies, China, is completely insane.

When that company is partnered with the Clinton Foundation and UN, extra insane.
