I'm no lawyer so I can't say exactly how legally sound this is.

HOWEVER.

My personal favorite "style" of statement to allow you more freedom in terms of combat/self-defense, is saying something along the lines of the following...

"I'm not concerned for my safety with you doing 'X'. I need you to stop doing 'X'. If you do not stop doing 'X', or return later to continue doing 'X', I'm going to assume that you are going to assault me with the intent of attempting to murder me. I will do everything in my power to defend myself, my family, and my fellow man from your being. If you continue doing 'X' in the next 5 seconds, which I will count aloud, I will also assume that this is non-verbal legal consent to my previous statements, and I will act accordingly."

Then you count to 5, like you're talking to a child.
