Still holding out in Portland? When Rose City Antifa threatened me personally with harm I said a big fuck you to Portland, closed my business, and moved to a red state. Those jobs I was creating will never be coming back. If you’re able to do that, do it last year. Portland isn’t getting better just because Antifa didn’t win the mayoral election.
911 response is averaging ten minutes for most of the city and worse during riots. There are actual marauding gangs downtown that will hold ideological self flagellation meetings and if you don’t participate enthusiastically enough will put your name on a list. The last statistic I heard was over 60% of businesses downtown have no plans to reopen and 40% across Multnomah county. Everything is going into Covid shutdown again even though people in Portland are anal retentive about following the mask guidelines.
Just waiting for the city to say that they’re using eminent domain laws to repurpose those vacant buildings as homeless shelters, free clinics, city/state drug treatment facilities, covid testing facilities, and city (pre)schools (for lower density educational environments of course, not indoctrination and radicalization).
In the next year even with MAGA staying in power at a federal level Portland is going to become a very different and even more toxic place to call home. Please for your sake get out now.
