For others it's about being excruciatingly thorough. Certain processes drive people to have to take on every problem exhaustively. They can sometimes appear the same at a glance but there's a difference.
That is partly what I was getting at initially. Those who do too much and those who do too little. Some people do get more out of the extra effort than others.
There are pressures on a lot of liberals that are also urbanites that can contribute toward certain cognitive extremes. Nearly everyone in the city has to act smart to act the part and it's not all just pompous. It's also driven by the impression that if you're not like that then you're not fit for work or society.
Though I think there's more to the left not being able to meme. They can't even get memes either half the time.
Even the ones that you could describe as short and witty don't cut it. Quite a lot of them seem to transplant humour with pure unadulterated hate. They really do just say Orange Man Bad. Whatever clever trick or joke there might be if any wont be integrated into the whole.
They're like counterfeit memes sellotaping a few things together that don't really fit. When they are funny it's often an accident that backfires as though they are humour blind.
Some kind of obsession with being so serious all the time and a funny bone replaced with hostility.
It's an incredibly sad disorder with horrific consequences for mental health. A properly developed humour is vital for dealing with the harshness of reality. Imagine a life with no comic relief or not seeing the funny side of things.
