Here is how it could happen.
-
We win some of the recounts and challenges, some are unresolved and neither side gets 270 votes by dec 14.
-
Now it goes to the house to decide president but they realize they will be out voted by gop dominated states so they stay home and no quorum. No president is selected
-
Then it goes to senate to decide vice president, and the dems pull the same trick, stay home and no quorum. So no new vice president either.
-
Jan 20 rolls around, trump and pense are out, no new president unless scotus makes a ruling or some unlikely deal
-
With no pres, no vp next in line is speaker of the house. If crazy nancy can keep her gavel, the horrible bitch could actually become president.
Tell me this nightmare scenario will not play out? We know the dems will pull every dirty trick there is. We have to win in the courts or this will happen
I dont think she has the votes to keep her speaker of the house title, at least thats what the republican minority leader said
the quorum part doesn't apply to special sessions where they'd be selecting president
I'm not 100% sure of that, bit I can't imagine the Constitution being dodged just by Dems not showing up
It says in the constitution they must have a quorum to be able to vote
Nancy Pelosi is very likely not going to keep her Speakership in the 117th Congress. There were already dems that didn't like her after the 2018 primaries, but with the massive losses the dems suffered this election, even more are tired of her. Kevin McCarthy, the current House Minority Leader, said that she doesn't have the votes to retain her speakership.
No one wants that hag in charge of the country. Seeing trump win then nancy get taken down would be sweet
The drunk might not even be Speaker come Jan 20th. GOP picked up a fair amount of seats and she has lost support in her own party.
The Turtle would find a way to elect Pence. He picks Trump as his VP, steps down, Trump picks him as VP. Dem heads explode. Hilarity ensues.
No the minority house leader would become president actually
Third in line is speaker of the house so we must win before it gets that far
