In 1981, the Republicans finally had enough of Democrats stealing elections. They sent a guy to New Jersey to stop the steal. The guy didn’t find any problems, but he intimidated voters. This was Reagan before his policies worked. This was not good for the Republicans.

After the 1981 election, the Democrats got the Republicans to agree to not look for fraud until 2017.
