The BBC works a lot like a government department - it tends to be a certain kind of person who works there. University educated, generally middle class either metropolitan or from the commuter towns in the home counties. Pretty exclusively left wing. Lot's of "diversity" hires. Most of their best people got fed up of the place and were either forced out or retired.
Honestly the people who work at the BBC think where I come from which is only about 120 miles drive from London is the surface of the moon. When the Brexit campaign was happening they sent a reporter to the Weatherspoons (its a big pub chain here) in the city centre and they did this smug condescending report basically calling the people there uneducated bigoted morons. If they can't understand us it takes a special kind of arrogance to go to America and try to throw their weight around.
Whenever the BBC interview someone who supports Brexit, it'll be some guy who has just staggered out of a Wetherspoons in Hull and is talking nonsense. Whenever they interview a Trump supporter it'll be someone sitting in a trailer park drinking beer.
