I fucking love her. Finally a female character who doesn't have to criticize men or beat them up to prove that she's strong. Plus she's actually jacked so the fact that she can kick ass in a fight is pretty realistic.
I agree with you, but I feel I have to say I will no shit fight anyone who thinks there is a better example of a strong female lead in film than Ellen Ripley from the Alien franchise. The role was so great it didn't even need to define her based upon her being a woman. She interacted with the men around her as if she was a man herself. There was literally no difference between how her character was treated and how anyone in those movies with a dick was treated. Nobody screamed at the audience, "Hey, look at this impressive woman character!" Instead, it was, "Hey, look at this badass!"
Ellen Ripley for fucking life. God, I love Alien so much.

Yeah I even loved Alien 3.
But, Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor, come on man.
The Alien Queen was a based female we can all aspire to be like.
