The truth? Bernie was an outsider visiting a cloistered hippie commune with permission from the commune leaders. Her was there to observe and report (I don't know to whom maybe a newspaper) but he was so disruptive; getting in heated debates with the workers and lecturing them for hours that work wasn't getting done and morale was dropping that the leadership had to remove him. They kicked him out not because he was a lazy piece of shit (he is) but because he was turning the people he talked into lazy pieces of shit, undermining the commune leadership and all that.
