Big tech is the largest inhibitor of grass roots growth. If we don't have an independent platform to organize then we're setting ourselves up to be taken by the mob. Not every Trump supporter wants to be a Proud Boy, 3%er. or part of some religious evangelical movement. We need an umbrella that allows for organization of all those who support Trump and what he stands for.

the proper way to do it is simply to utilize a public data store (aka blockchain technology). A technology which after a decade became quite mature and cost effective.

The problem with the platform monopolies like Reddit/FB/Twitter is structural. They all use private databases that only they can access. The alternative, TD.win style islands, suffer from a lack of network effect and therefore the big guys have a critical advantage.

Public data stores solve it! Anyone can write, and anyone can read. So the islands can interoperate in a seamless way for the end user, and generate a network effect, in a similar way email does.

From all the online services we use every day, the only one that can be described as a public online service - is email. Everything else is proprietary crap. You can access the email network from many different domains - but they all form a single, interconnected network.

Email barely survived due to spam and fishing, exactly because it did NOT utilize a public data store (simply since the technology didn't exist at the time). If it did, every email address would become a public profile, and there probably wouldn't be a facebook today, at least not in its current devilish form.

Having public data stores that can be accessed from any number of domains also solves the censorship problem - because every site can have its own content policy, and users can choose, or migrate, between sites.

I believe that the future of online discourse and social media would be purely based on public data stores. It also offers the advantage of being able to transfer dollars as easy as it is transfer bits - which is key for creating sustainable gateways.

Why should you believe me? I was the founder of Metacafe (was 2nd to YT) and I've been in the blockchain space full time since 2011, built Bancor, and currently working on deweb.io

Is's our rugged individualism that makes it so we don't clump together as easily as the left who instinctively run and form a heard, like the prey they are.

We're the lions, it's time to form lion prides all over the land. And when I say it's time, I mean was time four years ago, but most of us were asleep back then and didn't want to believe what's really at stake.

And for all those years we sat and let daddy Trump solve our problems for us. It's time we solve a problem or two for him.

There's a very real concern for anonymity on here, as well as legal fault. Remember, the left is desperate to devalue this site. Wanting more out of it makes sense, as we all love it so much, but I think for now, I understand the reason things are the way they are.

Also why doesn't the search feature work at all?

14
AnnoyedSoPosting 14 points ago +14 / -0

Search is one of the more intensive things to keep running. Now go to NEW and hit refresh a few times, and watch the text pour in. The resource cost for indexing these would be huge, in terms of both technology and maintenance. I'm sure the very impressive nerds running this place have a plan of some kind, but at least for now, I understand.

Alternative for what it's worth: On Google, type this in

Site:thedonald.win WORDS TO FIND

The "Site" operator is a way to send a direct command stating that you only want results from a particular site.

WORDS TO FIND you replace with whatever you're searching for.

5
EnigmaticEncounter 5 points ago +5 / -0

Thank you much appreciated, I understand the load, it's just frustrating when you're looking for info to share and get no results, thanks again for the work around!

BTW, If TD was utilizing public data stores, anyone could have implemented a search! I expanded on it here in an earlier reply to a comment above

Watch the mods ignore this, as they've ignored every other time we've made this request. Q, Kotaku in action and Gavin McGinnis got their own .wins, but for some reason subs that would allow local organization and information spread are anathema to the mods here.

Prove me wrong mods. Give the users what we want and need.

3
Eclypse3d 3 points ago +3 / -0

One thing I think we're missing here is that this place is what it is due to the mods being gods. Asking them for more .wins is asking them to curate those sites as well. Its a ton of work to keep out shills, child porn and other crap that would make us look horrible.

Not an easy job, even though they make it look easy.

-1
Eyal -1 points ago +1 / -2

I think the solution for the is using a system that utilized a public data store. I expand on this point here

Alternatives already exist to Facebook and Twitter. While they're not the most user-friendly platforms yet, we already have things like Minds, MeWe, and Parler to use as alternatives. If we use these as our new stomping grounds and Big Tech loses ground, we can win, but it's going to take a solid effort of everyone supporting these platforms. I'm not saying people can't make their own alternatives that may be better, but some do already exist, you just have to look further than MSM to find them.

Ezpz.

The Patriot Party. Party Mascot: Lion Party Motto: Keep America Great (that way, anytime the party gets talked about, they have to acknowledge/reference Trump's presidency) Mission Statement: "We the Patriots of the United States of America will defend our beloved Republic, under the Constitution for which we stand united, so that all patriots may prosper in this Land of the Free." Party Color: Red, White, and Blue. duh. Party Flag: Its in this website somewhere, its actually really dope. Hats off to whomever made it. 20,000,000/10.

Next we need beloved Pedes to move for political offices. Then we need to get DeSantis, and Noem on board for 2024.

4
indianafreedom 4 points ago +4 / -0

I am off Facebook as well. The Facebook community only exists to reach folks still on Facebook. Nothing happens on Facebook. The real action happens among real folks doing face to face within the counties within which we live.

2
PieCars 2 points ago +2 / -0

I agree, OP. I live in upstate NY and there are a lot more of us out here than one might think. But not having a FB or twitter, it's hard to find uncensored information on local meetups or rallies. Even just organizing social meetups to grab a drink with fellow pedes would be nice. I understand there'd need to be some vetting to make sure antifags weren't infiltrating these events but we've come this far, I'm sure we could figure something out.

1
wiombims 1 point ago +1 / -0

The rallies are a pretty good vetting process. I think we can get it done.

I have as well but, counterpoint... The local elections thread had over 7000 upvotes (at the time one of the highest on the site) but when I went in the thread, only half the states had a post. In those subposts, only a few posts talked about state-wide initiatives on the ballot. The whole point of the thread was to show which politicians were maga and there were almost NO posts about local elections. The pede who made that thread had a brilliant idea and the perfect format but there was no engagement from the community. 7000 people upvoted the thread but didn't bother to leave ONE comment about a ballot initiative, politicians worth voting for, rinos to avoid, local initiatives, anything about the election having to do with their state, really. I can understand why people didn't because it's hard not to dox yourself posting things like that but whatever the reason, there was no engagement from the users. Edit: the thread ended up being almost useless, through no fault of the poster, and even though the mods said they'd keep the thread stickied until election, they pulled it off and let it zombie as a high upvote front page post.

Guys... .win is a top level domain. ‘Washington.win DC.win and Tennessee.win’ would be completely different websites all together, requiring different moderators and allowing different points of entry for shills. Divided we fall...be careful.
