I really don't get the enthusiasm for Don Jr, Candace Owens, etc. Noem is quite worthy of praise though. I see some dissenters in the comments, and I concede that a leader must be masculine in order to be successful, but I think Noem has displayed that she can be masculine. To me, women like Noem represent what is now the ideal female American leader: masculine in her professional and civic roles, but feminine in her personal life (she is married with children, which seems pretty feminine to me). In my own professional life, I witness the same thing: women who are capable of being masculine get to be leaders, and women who aren't still have roles that they can serve in, but stay out of leadership roles since they fail to achieve this duality.
I agree. Trump Jr. and Owens are more brash and outspoken than Noem, and their language is comparatively more inflammatory and combative. I love them both for that since that approach helps to distill complex issues and get people thinking – but I don’t think it would serve them well as political candidates. Noem’s calm yet unapologetic delivery, collected demeanor, and proven track record combine to hit a lot harder. She therefore strikes me (and I imagine many others) as someone who is more likely to succeed and be a true uniter.
