I got an alesis nitro mesh for midi triggering, but it doesn't have enough sensors in the hi hat to do more than traditional beats. Also, the internal sound bank sucks balls. That's okay, though. We record real drums generally, and just trigger with the edrum.
The hat on mine is crap for a foot splash. I've been using addictive drums and slate drums as a backend, and had quite a bit of success. Still, nothing quite like a real kit.
What kit is that? Looks almost like a Roland.

Simmons SD-350, it also has a limited sound bank but is also capable of doing MIDI stuff. The hi-hat on this has a couple trigger zones.
