Because theirs's are probably stolen or illicitly gained, and them being absolute mental cases, it would disqualify them and prove illegal possession of a firearm.

My m16 in Iraq was basically set up just like this. I wasn't a door kicker but I was in security forces. It's fucking handy to have around when you're pulling security all day.

3
_-Th0r-_ 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yeah was gonna say those were pretty common.

6
BlowfishandFunk 6 points ago +6 / -0

Where did you get the plate carrier?

8
wartooth6 [S] 8 points ago +8 / -0

I ordered it through fleaBay from an American tactical supply store. I went to send the link but they're sold out. I had it within 2 days and it was very affordable. Under budget and ahead of schedule!

I bought one years ago works well. I’ve got a trijicon MRO and an eotech. It’s somewhere in between. Only downside would be the shorter battery life. MRO like some other higher end optics has a 50,000 hr battery life.

No military experience here. Just a guy from the south who grew up as a kid shooting with his dad (former green beret). I only mention because I’m proud of him, he’ll be 70 in Jan. Been collecting myself about 18 years now and shot irons for years. As I started making more money was able to afford better gear. I believe everyone should learn with irons to get the fundamentals. On the chance the optic fails. Thank you for your service BTW. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Expert badge too, but I've been out for 9 years. I'm sure I'm a little rusty but ammo's too damn expensive to burn off right now.

3
wartooth6 [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

Holy shit pede you're right! I've got an older one so it looks a little different. I couldn't remember the brand and it's not marked on it for whatever reason.

3
Sodium_miner 3 points ago +3 / -0

I only knew because this was the first mid range optic I purchased. Great high value optic. It’s been on 3 different AR’s, it’s now found a place on a 10.5” pistol build.

4
wartooth6 [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

Couldn't even tell you anymore. I bought it at a gunshow years ago and had it lying around. I plan on upgrading soon.

There isn't a name on it, sorry. Red/Green dot adjustable brightness and green laser pointer.

wartooth6 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Type UUQ 1x30 4 MOA in amazon. It's damn near identical and cheaper than what I paid years ago for it lol.

Whistling the theme song now.....

3
TangerineShine 3 points ago +3 / -0

Do the Bi pod legs slide up into the cylinder. It seems it acts as a bipod and foregrip?

5
Phil_DeGraves 5 points ago +5 / -0

They do. I have one, it's great. Spring-loaded button pops the legs out of the grip and locks them into place.

3
wartooth6 [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yes! Very handy.

luckyfunk13 3 points ago +3 / -0

I am only disappointed that there appear to be 16 silvers, and not 17...

Wheres your NVD? PEQ-15 clone? The most important equipment to have now.

1
wartooth6 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Working on it lol, though my sight does have a laser pointer

2
Dgilles111 2 points ago +2 / -0

Have you looked at the nightfox swift? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088ZQ6B64/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_mlFSFbKBCVBQJ

Can get stand alone illumination and turn off internal IR thats visible. Biggest downside to these seems to be FOV of 10-20 degrees vs PVS-7 40 degrees. Entry level at low cost.

Coz they are all illegal guns doh.

any recommendation for vest and curved ar500 steel plates for slim frame?

4
deleted 4 points ago +4 / -0
2
Sodium_miner 2 points ago +2 / -0

This is what I have. Much heavier than ceramic but will stop most small arms but 30.06 AP

2
wartooth6 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

The spall coating on my plates only cost me $15 extra. I couldn't spring for ceramic plates like my old IBA had but for 15 bucks I might as well get the added layer of protection.

2
wartooth6 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

AR500 plates are pretty much universal in size. Most plate carriers are adjustable. This one fits size M-2XL.

I have that same grip. Got it in a trade deal

2

Nice silver dollars, too. Silver and gold coins are great to have around in times of trouble.

And guns, of course.

2
wartooth6 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Highly recommend. It's spring loaded and pops out with the push of a button. Makes a pretty slick sound too haha

2
TickleMissle 2 points ago +2 / -0

Are those gold eagles you got there big money?

2
wartooth6 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Silver Eagles and rounds, I can't afford gold right now lol

2
TickleMissle 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah it's insane. Pretty sure Gold's only intrinsic value will be it's exchange rate in silver. Outside of that, it'll be impossible to transact with if the fiat system were to fail.

1
PraiseBeToScience 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah, I find the people saving gold for the apocalypse to be comically naive. Gold has no actual value and if major economies collapse, who the fuck is going to decide what the value is? Are you going to try to say "oh that loaf of bread was only worth $4, which means it's worth 1/10th of a gram of gold!". No, if you need that bread, that bread becomes worth whatever the person selling it demands. If that means all your gold, well, you can starve or hand it all over.

Also, if your plan was "oh when a new government forms, I'll have all the gold and be a billionaire!", you should realize that every government basically makes a point of seizing all the gold specifically so that doesn't happen. And if you try to spend it, you're just putting a target on your back as "the guy with all the gold".

1
luketheuke 1 point ago +1 / -0

Gold isn't for doomsday. It's for inflation of your local currency vs others. Ask a person who lived in a country that experienced hyper-inflation if having gold is stupid. It wasn't because the precious metal is a medium of exchange that can buy you real products or other currencies. Don't forget that inflation is a hidden tax that is instituted by central banks.

Also never forget that at one point, the US government confiscated gold. They didn't do it because it was stupid, worthless metal.

Ask a person who lived in a country that experienced hyper-inflation if having gold is stupid.

Okay, go name some of these people.

What exactly is your basis for valuation of gold, then, in an economy with hyper-inflation?

1
luketheuke 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah, call Juan Lopez in Caracas. Or John Williams in Bulawayo.

Basis of valuation of gold in hyper-inflation scenarios is ultimately other currencies. For most of the world, in fact, the value of their money is determined relative to the USD, which is the world's reserve currency. If you were in Venezuala in 2019 when it was experiencing 10,000,000% inflation (example in USD, something that costs $1 on 1/1/19 would cost $10 million on 12/31/19), you literally could not buy many things with local bolivars (Venezuela currency) but you could barter for them or exchange for foreign currency. In either case, gold remains a valuable commodity, because it's easily exchangeable for foreign currency at a reliable rate (in the same period of 2019, gold increased from being able to buy $1290 for an ounce to being able to buy $1520 for an ounce). It acts like money because it is fungible for money at a reliable rate and with universal acceptance.

Doesn't take much to understand that the guy in Caracas holding his wealth in Bolivars would have his saving completely wiped out but the same person holding gold or USD would have his wealth protected. Now if you live in the US, holding money in the world reserve currency as a hedge isn't a option (because it's USD) so a reasonable alternative is precious metals especially since it functions identically to currency .

Gold has had value since Jesus. That being said, I stock up whiskey and cigarettes. People will trade anything for those two items.

1
PraiseBeToScience 1 point ago +1 / -0

If you're "prepping" for post-collapse, spending your money on gold is one of the dumbest ways to waste your cash.

2
Dudemanfoo 2 points ago +2 / -0

For a few dollars moar we could get some moar Van Cleef!!!

3
wartooth6 [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

Just double checked to be sure, and it is lol. It's just how it looks.

1
Greg-2012 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's good to leave some half-full, the spring in the mag lasts longer.

2
Sodium_miner 2 points ago +2 / -0

Looks like a vortex strike fire II optic. Great optics for the money and lifetime warranty. They are made in chy-na thou. I have one, no complaints. Odd battery size but other than that it’s been great.

There's lots of guns to buy. But no ammo. What good is the gun with no ammo?

The song “In the great shining path of monster trucks” by Clutch just came into my mind.

1
Greg-2012 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think we have the same foregrip/bi-pod. Have you used it? How many rounds?
