This is former Lt. Clint Lorance. While serving as commander of a troop of soldiers in the Kandahar Province in southern Afghanistan and in a hostile zone where intelligence said there were known insurgents (and their troop had previously been attacked in the same location) he order his troop to fire on 3 "civilians" on a motorcycle. Three fighting-age men on a motorcycle approached his troop and they killed them. The soldiers under his command weren't charged with any crimes when it was revealed the apparent insurgents were unarmed, but 9 of them testified against him and received immunity for it. The incident happened in 2012 and he was sentenced to 20 years in 2013.
THEN IN 2015 INTELLIGENCE WAS REVEALED WHICH WAS WITHHELD FROM HIS COURTMARTIAL THAT PROVED THAT ALL THREE "CIVILIANS" HAD TIES TO THE TALIBAN AND 2 OF THEM HAD LITERALLY CONDUCTED ATTACKS AGAINST AMERICAN SOLDIERS!!
