There is no fairness in what is happening. If your neighbor hates Trump, the constitution and truth, then they are not your friends. Stay alert and keep your heads up. Find other pedes to network with in your community. Help each other. Stock up with supplies and do not go anywhere alone. It is about to get bad friends.
I don't want to believe this, but I am afraid things will get much worse before they get better. I'll add to your advice about networking, that if one cannot do that, then at least be prepared to hunker down for a while.
