This post will probably get zero traction and I'll be bombarded with attacks but I dont understand why being a Trump loving Republican requires us all to not want to not get sick or get others sick. Why cant we wear masks even if the mitigation is marginal its still something. I dont necessarily believe in lockdowns but restrictions on gatherings isn't that illogical is it? I understand we dont want to lose our freedoms so how about this do it willingly and you lose no freedom. I dont know I feel like there must be a way for both freedom and the ability to stop this virus to coexist. I'm a pede doing my part to slow the spread and I hope you all are too.

U do not get rid of a virus u will never eradicate this virus. Masks don’t stop transmission. It’s impossible to not have human contact and thus, the virus will continue to spread. U can not teach the general public how to prevent the transmission of germs, it’s far too difficult. The best surgeons in the most sterile of environments cause infections all of the time due to contamination and you expect to stop a coronavirus that is widespread. It’s ridiculous, ur telling me this virus escaped a level 4 lab and ur going to stop it by not having as many people for thanksgiving? Infection rate is up due to testing being up. Our mortality rate is much improved, treatments have been established, shutdown didnt work and never would work to end a virus. The goal of shutdown was to avoid overcapacity at hospitals, not to stop the virus. We are not over capacity or approaching that.
