This post will probably get zero traction and I'll be bombarded with attacks but I dont understand why being a Trump loving Republican requires us all to not want to not get sick or get others sick. Why cant we wear masks even if the mitigation is marginal its still something. I dont necessarily believe in lockdowns but restrictions on gatherings isn't that illogical is it? I understand we dont want to lose our freedoms so how about this do it willingly and you lose no freedom. I dont know I feel like there must be a way for both freedom and the ability to stop this virus to coexist. I'm a pede doing my part to slow the spread and I hope you all are too.

The only chance you have to control a virus is at the outbreak, when less than 1% of the population has it, and it is localized.
The virus is already everywhere. What do you mean 'slow the spread'? It has already spread everywhere it is going to spread. here is an example:

1 out of 8 people in NY State already were infected, recovered, and never even knew it. This was in April of 2020.
So that number, 1 out of 8, must be much higher, now, right? Since that was April?
The problem here is a basic lack of knowledge about the virus. If you are young or middle age, you will likely have few or no symptoms. You get will infected and fight it off without knowing.
The lack of knowledge is being used to create fear and ridiculous rules to advance an agenda that we would never agree to otherwise.
That is why you will find a hostile response to your whining about the virus.
