Doing 100 push ups and not being able to do one single pull up is impossible.

It would be an unbelievable muscle imbalance, no matter your level of fitness.

Pull ups are probably 85% back muscles while push ups are pecs, deltoids, triceps and abs.

They work different muscle groups. I obviously had better developed chest, shoulders, arms and abs than back. So I could get through multiple push ups but I had trouble doing pull ups.

Then be careful. Muscle imbalances between the push and pull muscles can lead to shoulder injuries.

In theory one is supposed to row almost as much as he benches.
