If Texas were to secede their 38 electoral votes would go away. So instead of 538 electoral votes it would be 500. To win the presidency you'd need 251 instead of the 270 you need now. Doing a quick glance at the electoral map, in my opinion it wouldn't change anything. You'd still need a majority of electoral votes and all the same swing States would be in play. Taking Texas out of the equation doesn't really effect the rest of the United States, but it does make Texas it's own independent country. A country with VAST resources and a major shipping port. Fun fact: did you know that Texas is the only State who's electrical grid is completely self contained and not connected to the rest of the USA. As a Pede who has lived in Texas twice in my life, owns property there and is moving back in 2022 to stay for eternity, I'm okay with Texas secession, no matter who is President of the USA.
