To hell with the lockdowns.

Every American is responsible for their own risk mitigation. We don't need or want a nanny state.

Sadly, there are a lot of people who do want mommy government to warm their bottles for them and tuck them into bed at night. I was disgusted to read all the Twitter comments thanking Washington state governor Inslee for shutting down the state again to keep them from getting the coof.

Twitter is a poor representation of society. Heavily skewed to neurotic/psychotic trust fund babies and spoiled middle class university students. And journofags.

They have found that millenials are more afraid of and most likely to comply with China Cough sanctions than Boomers--

It’s fun watching them panic when they run out of money.

I remember when the $300+ per week checks were going out, people were freaking out since they were low on money (one woman who appeared to be in her mid-30s had $5 to her name). They were saying that they shouldn’t have to choose between feeding themselves/paying rent and death - their reason for not getting a job. Some guy on Twitter told them to get their lazy ass up and go down to job source.

That is sad, and very frustrating.

I stand by the belief that it is incumbent upon every American to make their own decisions, based on their own analysis of the evidence and data, and their own beliefs, priorities, and uniqueness of their personal situation.

If someone has a compromised immune system, it may make sense for them to wear a mask or avoid gatherings. It isn't my job to tell them that, and it should not be within the powers of government to force that choice upon them. If we love freedom, we must love the freedom to make our own decisions.

Freedom means someone can walk down the street wearing full biohazard gear and pass a house filled with family and friends enjoying themselves and no one gets upset, arrested, or harassed for their choices.

The good news is that Twitter is mostly shills and bots, with some actual people mixed in for realism. The overwhelming consensus, here in CA anyway, is that Newsom is ridiculous and Thanksgiving is a go.

OMG HOW DARE YOU ADVOCATE FOR THE LITERAL NATIONWIDE MURDER OF GRANDMAS. COMPLY WITH MY UNCONSTITUTIONAL ORDERS OR ELSE, FASCIST!

I'll take "ELSE" for $500, Alex.

Grandma could be a day or two away from dying of some terminal illness. They won't go see her because of covid.

Then they'll go on twitter bragging about how they wouldn't go see their dying family member because covid.
