The problem is that you have a group of people awake and aware of their environment; us. We only get more invested as time goes on. Then you have another group of people who are ignorant of their environment, and for the sake of pride, are willing to continue being ignorant. I'm not sure we can reach these people. They're grown-up versions of the kids who close their eyes, stick their fingers in their ears and yell "LALALALALAA CANT HEAR YOU!".
