SCOTUS can determine that the election violated the constitution. Legislature was overridden by a side deal. The side deal essentially agreed to disenfranchise voters, and override the legislature. SCOTUS can then determine the results of the illegal election invalid. Also, the state legislature has to accept the certified results and appoint electors. This would be a temporary PR win at best.

Although it probably doesn't really matter any more, they can probably guess with 95+% certainty who you voted for by analyzing available data. By analyzing a person's digital footprint I'm sure they know who you vote for.
It's supposed to be that the signature on an absentee ballot is compared to a signature on file for the voter -- this could be a driver's license or state-issued ID. Absentee's aren't really secret ballots. The rejection rate for absentee ballots for this election was absurdly low.

What good is a recount if the results and process aren't transparent? If you never allow signatures to be questioned, and if you destroy their origin and time stamps, secret folder, etc. this whole process is kangaroo court.

Matching signatures on absentee ballots is virtually the only way to (mostly) ensure that the person who filled in the ballot is the actual voter. Without that, it's meaningless, you cannot prove who filled in the ballot.
The envelope has the signature. So you can associate the envelope with a person but not the ballot.
Although it probably doesn't really matter any more, they can probably guess with 95+% certainty who you voted for by analyzing available data. Like target knew a girl was pregnant before her dad did based on her target shopping habits. And they can tell with relative certainty when the future date is. By analyzing a person's digital footprint I'm sure they know who you vote for.
No, it could be a serial number on the ballot that matches to the person in a secure database. That's how other countries do it.

Here's how I think it works.
There's 2 envelopes. the outer envelope has the address. The inner envelope has a signature.
I think one person checks the address and the signature and placed the folded ballot in a different pile for someone else to tabulate.
That's why having 2 people there to look at the vote is so important.
I'm not sure if they put them back together after that.
It's supposed to be that the signature on an absentee ballot is compared to a signature on file for the voter -- this could be a driver's license or state-issued ID. Absentee's aren't really secret ballots. The rejection rate for absentee ballots for this election was absurdly low.
