If the owners of the site are financially independent, having donations shut down would not get the site cancelled. Donations are the main vector to get sites like this cancelled and shut down. So they can't accept them.
That's only valid if the site requires donations to remain operating.
If the owners of the site are financially independent, having donations shut down would not get the site cancelled.
Unless I'm missing something?
They aren't just drawing conclusions from their own opinions, they've seen what happens to many other sites in the past....
I guess I don't follow how A leads to B, when A is not necessary.
