I think trump might have given him a minite or two in the oval office and changed his mind, but initially would have been a lefty or decrying another rich white guy, even ironically being one himself.
He was in my opinion, a skeptical libertarian. I saw him live in college in the early 80’s. Much of his comedy back then would not be “approved” by the woke crowd of today, but very funny nonetheless. Particularly his bit on “fishing for brown trout”...a popular pastime of Barry and his husband Big Mike.
He'd have been on the lefty bandwagon at first but I think he would have came around after 4 years.
